MIS12 is part of a complex that plays an essential role in chromosome segregation in vertebrates and contributes to mitotic kinetochore assembly. Function: Part of the MIS12 complex which is required for normal chromosome alignment and segregation and for kinetochore formation during mitosis. Subunit: Component of the MIS12 complex composed of MIS12, DSN1, NSL1 and PMF1. Also interacts with CASC5, CBX3, CBX5, NDC80 and ZWINT. Subcellular Location: Nucleus. Chromosome, centromere, kinetochore. Note=Associated with the kinetochore. Similarity: Belongs to the mis12 family. SWISS: Q9H081 Gene ID: 79003 Database links: UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot: Q9H081.1 細胞周期是細胞最基本的生命活動之一,它通過一系列有序的反應進行分裂,產(chǎn)生兩個包含相同遺傳物質(zhì)的子細胞。細胞周期中最核心的事件就是進行遺傳物質(zhì)的復制和分離,即在S期進行DNA的復制,然后在有絲分裂時期將復制的染色體平均分配到子細胞中去。有絲分裂過程中染色體的運動和分離又是通過紡錘體微管和位于染色體著絲粒上的動點之間的協(xié)同作用來完成的。 MIS12是一個進化上較為保守的蛋白復合物,人源MIS12復合物由Mis13、Mis14、Mis12和PMF1四個蛋白組成,功能性研究表明它們在動點的組裝和染色體的分離中發(fā)揮重要作用,但是，目前它們動點定位機制仍不清楚，還有待進一步研究。 |
